At Green Exchange, we like to talk about our products, and in particular, how they're made.
Today, we'd like to take you a little further up our chain production chain, several hundred kilometers our CBD laboratorylaboratory in northern France.
This is where you'll find our Agrican farmwhere we grow our CBD flowers, where it all begins.
Paul Bleuchot, co-founder of Green Exchange, is first and foremost an experienced hemp grower. So when the opportunity arose to plant his own cannabis plants in France, he didn't hesitate for a moment.
A year later, and more than 500,000 euros invested in building and equipping 7,500 m² of automated greenhouses, Agrican is able to produce just over 2 tonnes/year of CBD flowers and hemp biomass.
At the same time, the team decided to increase its production capacity and diversify its offer: 6,000 m² were dedicated to outdoor cultivation.
Growing hemp organically
Respect for the environment is a value deeply rooted in every member of our team.
Although making ecology rhyme with productivity is a real challenge, ourexperience, combined with our partnerships with suppliers of organic crop protection products, enables us to reconcile respect for the environment, quality and quantity.
Our greenhouses are designed to optimize the use of natural resources. For both greenhouse and outdoor applications, we use :
Rainwater for watering;
Organic fertilizers to supply nutrients;
Biological control (use of auxiliary insects) to avoid undesirable insects;
Treatments based on good bacteria and essential oils against fungal diseases.
And so, every 3 months (greenhouse), we harvest beautiful organic hemp flowers, cared for by a team of qualified farmers with a passion for their work.
Selecting CBD varieties
Once the functioning of our greenhouses and our land planned, we were faced with another challenge: the choice of varieties. For this, our main selection criterion was the richness of their terpene profile.
In order to offer our customers a varied catalog, capable of satisfying both seasoned and less experienced consumers, we strive to select varieties with traditional terpene profiles, as well as those with more exotic and original aromas and flavors.
After harvesting and drying, the fate of our flowers is divided into two parts:
🍁
The finest CBD flowers are selected for the crucial refining stage. This is a process that requires a great deal of expertise, as it determines the taste quality of the flowers. Once ready, they are weighed and packed in airtight bags.
🧪
Buds that we deem too small or too dry are transported to our laboratories in Switzerland. There, our chemists take over, extracting their molecular baggage (cannabinoids and terpenes) to elaborate some of our products such as our CBD oils and cannabis extract concentrates.
CBD professionals can purchase our products and offer them for sale under their own store name.
They can also opt for our Freshemp and/or Nobilis products, two self-developed brands with complementary marketing identities:
Colorful packaging and casual communication, which offers mostly CBD products for recreational use: flowers, cartridges, CBD extracts, etc. ;
The strict restriction of THC levels to just 0.3% (compared with 1% in Switzerland and 0.6% in Italy) has led to the creation of a chain of chain production chain.
French growers find themselves in competition with foreign hemp plants, whose flowers synthesize more CBD than their own. The more THC a plant synthesizes, the richer it will be in CBD.
Buying products made from French hemp is a way of supporting our industry and participating in its development. And in the specific case of buying CBD flowers, it's also a gain in quality.
Some CBD flowers sold in France are grown in Switzerland or Italy. After harvesting, their THC content exceeds 0.3%, and there are two ways of crossing the French border:
🧪 The falsification of laboratory analyses ;
🍁 The processing of flowers, which are "washed" to remove excess THC. This process can destroy some of their terpenes, altering their taste and smell.
By buying CBD flowers grown in France, you can be sure of their THC content and taste qualities.
